EDEN FOODSERVICE COMPETITION
During the week beginning September 20 the Eden Foodservice will be holding an ‘instant win’ competition for all those children on school dinners. See the posters around the school!

Oct 5: Non uniform day. This is also book week so please could children dress as a book character and bring £1 to fund the PTA bingo prizes of books and tokens? We are also having a 2nd hand book sale that day from 3pm in Tamar classroom. If you have any adult or children’s books in good condition please bring them in the morning.
Oct 5: Bingo – 4.30pm tea, 5.30pm eyes down.
Oct 21: Halloween Disco, fancy dress and pumpkin competition.
Dec 4: Christmas Bazaar Tolmen Centre
Dec 11: PTA Adult Christmas Party – Village Hall
MENU
Next week’s main course menu is as follows:
Monday: Lamb Bolognaise; Tuesday: Minced beef hot pot; Wednesday: Shepherd’s Pie, Thursday: Chicken Drumstick and Gravy; Friday Oven Baked Fish Fingers. A vegetarian option is available daily.
DATA COLLECTION SHEETS
Thank you to those parents who have returned the data collection sheets, please could we have the rest by Monday as all data needs to be re-entered on our system.
CLUBS
Clubs have got off to a good start this week. Please note some changes: Netball Club will finish at 4.15pm.
Rock Club will be on Wednesday 4-4.30pm in order for some of our former pupils to continue to attend. If your child is attending, and you prefer not to collect them at 3.15pm they can attend Kids Club (at the usual price) until the club starts.
DYSLEXIA FRIENDLY SCHOOLS ACCREDITATION DAY!
This has been re-scheduled for Wednesday 29th September. A team consisting of local authority and Cornwall Dyslexia Service representatives will spend the day in school. The team would like to talk to a group of parents – if you can spare some time between 2:30pm and 3:15pm, that would be great. Please could you let us know if you are available? We are also sending out parental questionnaires. The replies sent in previously have been kept but it would be good to have a few more to add.
Please note that my regular days this term are Wednesday and Thursday morning. I am available from 8:30 on those days if anyone wishes to see me. Judith Carroll
KIDS CLUB
We are getting very busy at Kids Club so it is imperative to book in advance with Mrs Beswick. We also need you to book in advance for breakfast club which is available from 8.00-8.45am. Thank you.
CONSTANTINE PRE SCHOOL FUND DAY
Saturday 25 September 11am-3pm. Bouncy Castle, face painting, children’s games, cake and book stalls, toys, lucky dip BBQ, Children’s lunches, free football challenge, 30 min Toddlins activity and music from Constantine Silver Band. All welcome, come and join us.

HRCST
Saturday 18 Sept 2.30pm meet at the Ferry Boat Inn from 1pm for the Helford River Charity Swim. In aid of four charities including HRCST, this is an opportunity to swim across the Helford River, prize for best fancy dress. BBQ and refreshments available. MINUTES – PTA MEETING – 16 SEPTEMBER 2010
PEOPLE PRESENT: Mrs Liz Brand, Sally Martin, Maxine Hart, Michelle Craig, Claire Norris, Ruthanne Lyne, Jo Webber, Kate Rundell and welcome to a new member Cassie Hopkins.
- Apologies were sent from – Jason Lyne, Kerry Vincent, Elly Van Veen, Victoria Haywood, Antonia Elleman, Emma Vyvyan and Henrietta Sneesby.
- Tuesday 5th October is non-uniform day. As it coincides with the schools ‘Book Week’, children are asked to come dressed as a character from a book. Could children please bring in with them a £1 donation and also any ‘good quality’ books they have at home (no pen marked books!) so they can be sold at our book sale. At 4.30pm we have our BINGO NIGHT. Food, hot dogs and vegetarian hot dogs, will be served until 5.30pm, when the Bingo starts. There will also be a tombola. Great prizes!
- There will be a pumpkin competition on Thursday 21st October, so please bring in your pumpkins in the morning, there will be a prize for the Juniors and one for the Seniors. It is also the HALLOWEEN DISCO. Please come in a fancy dress outfit. Juniors 6pm – 7pm and Seniors 7.15pm – 8.15pm. Entrance is £1.50, this includes a bag of sweets and a drink. All classrooms will be locked to stop the wandering! Teachers and helpers will be there, which will include a first-aider. Please ensure the children are collected on time by a responsible adult.
- Our Christmas Bazaar will be held on Saturday 4th December, in conjungtion with the Pre-School. More news to follow at a later date.
- We are looking for ideas for fundraising, ie Christmas calendars, tea towels with the children’s portraits on etc, and would be grateful for any of your ideas and suggestions.
- Next meeting is to be held on Friday 8th October 9am. We would love to see you there, the more brain-power the better!
